What Karunya Plus (KN) Is

3. Match the date. Cross-check the draw date printed on the ticket against the date on the gazette header. Two independent confirmations, not one.
4. Read the first prize and consolation lines. Consolation prizes go to tickets sharing the first-prize number in a different series, so read the series letter carefully — this is the single most commonly missed win in Kerala.
5. Work all the way down every tier. Second, third, fourth and the lower tiers. Do not stop at the top three. Most real winners are in the bottom half of the chart.
6. Check the last-digit tiers last. The lowest tiers are awarded on partial matches — typically the final four digits and downwards. Compare digit by digit, right to left, out loud if you can.

Reading the Result Gazette Properly

The gazette is a formal document, not a headline. It opens with the ticket name, the draw number, the date and the venue, then lists prize tiers in descending order. Under each tier you will find either full ticket numbers with their series letters, or — for the lower tiers — bare digit strings that match on the tail of your number.

Three conventions confuse first-time readers. One: the series letter is part of the identity of a ticket for the top tiers, so the same digits in a different series are usually a consolation case rather than a first prize. Two: lower tiers are listed as sets of digits with no series at all, meaning any series with that ending qualifies. Three: the gazette often carries a correction or addendum note — if one exists for your draw, it overrides the original listing.

How the Prize Tiers Are Arranged
